Watch Valerie Lose It!

Welcome to my weight loss blog, Valerie Loses It! Here I will post updates, pictures & videos about my weight loss endeavors!

For those of you who don't know me from my beauty blog/YouTube channel, I am a 25 year old mother of one who loves shopping, traveling and spending time with my fiance, Jason, and our son, Nikki. My weaknesses include reality TV, eBay and carbs. I'm getting married next October and am determined to be a hott bride!

I struggle with losing weight because I simply don't put any effort into it. I'm what you might call...lazy. I was always the girl who skipped gym class and now I'm paying for it. I decided to start Weight Watchers today (for the third time) and am prepared to lose some serious "LBs" and get into shape for the wedding. I also bought an elliptical machine/stationary bike and will, slowly but surely, be integrating exercise into my daily routine.

As I stated earlier, this is the third time I've started Weight Watchers. I love the program because you can eat whatever you want as long as you don't go over a set amount of points every day. I don't mind the weekly weigh-ins because no one sees your weight except for the person working there and all of their employees are success stories who've been in your position before. My problem with WW is that I always seem to stop tracking my points, which is the is the main theme of the program and also what makes it so successful. How can you expect to lose weight if you have no recollection of how many calories you consumed in a day/a week/a month? I will definitely be struggling with holding my self accountable for what I eat, but it needs to be done.

Last time around (about a year ago) my future mother-in-law and I started together. I quit a month into it and she's still doing it to this day. I've gained 10 lbs and she's lost 50. So, unlike other diet plans, I know this one works. I'm presently a size 22 and embrace my curvy figure, but I would love to lose 50 lbs like she did. I want to look less giggly and more toned. Ideally, I'd like to be a size 12.

Currently, I weigh about 4 lbs more than I did when I was 9 months pregnant 17 months ago. This is the most I've ever weighed in my life and I'm so over being this size! I'd love to walk into a store and know that I could fit into anything. Right now, I'm semi-limited to where I can shop for clothes and it really bothers me.

So, without further ado... join me on my journey from flab to fab as I transform my body for the big day! Positive comments, suggestions and personal stories are eagerly welcomed!

*At the top right of the page is a ticker which will track my progress to my next goal. Every time I reach a goal, I'll set a new one and update the ticker. It also shows my BMI (Body Mass Index) which is just awful at the moment.
